PIA takes to the ice for Shoot for a Cure

On April 3, the lawyers of the Personal Injury Alliance took to the ice to support the Canadian Spinal Research Organization’s Shoot for A Cure fundraising campaign. SFAC is a fundraising campaign that aims to reduce the incident of spinal cord injuries and Neurotruama in hockey, as well as to fund research to find a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries. Attendant services are essential to the quality of life for many Ontarian’s living with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. Attendant Service providers promote independence, community participation and better health outcomes. Attendants help with the daily activities such as personal grooming, transferring, dressing, bathing, meals, ventilator and tracheotomy services and much more.

The webinar allowed an opportunity to share and learn more about the challenges and opportunities regarding both private and public attendant services throughout Ontario.

PIA 2013 Practical Strategies Conference

This past summer the firms of the Personal Injury Alliance co-sponsored a one day conference for Health Care Providers, called Practical Strategies – Catastrophic Impairment: A Look into the Future.

The conference was designed to increase awareness and understanding of SCI and provide an update on assessment and treatment strategies.

Oatley Vigmond, Thomson Rogers and McLeish Orlando made a special donation of $11,950 to St. Michael’s Hospital, Orthopedic Research Team to help their research in orthopedic surgery.
