The law firms of the Personal Injury Alliance were recently featured in Outspoken! Magazine, the quarterly publication of Spinal Cord Injury Ontario.
Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO) champion excellence in service, advocacy and quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries. Those who have sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI) know it has a profound impact on life; turning everything upside down, not only for the injured person but also those who are closest to them.
In this article, “Seriously Injured? Tips for Selecting a Lawyer” the author highlights the steps a person pursuing a personal injury lawsuit should research ahead of hiring legal representation in a spinal injury case.
Topping the list is to review a lawyer’s credentials as well as expertise, asking if they have had previous trial experience in a spinal cord injury case and also if they have the financial resources to hire medical and economic experts to help build the case. In addition to experience, comfort level and “fit” should also be considered. As the author points out, sometimes a spinal cord injury case can take years to complete, and it’s important your lawyer makes you feel comfortable and secure.
