This webinar was hosted by the Personal Injury Alliance, consisting of the personal injury law firms of McLeish Orlando, Oatley Vigmond and Thomson, Rogers.

The webinar is chaired by Carr Hatch, Thomson, Rogers – Carr is a Partner with Thomson, Rogers. He practices in the field of civil litigation with a focus on personal injury litigation. Carr has represented clients at trial at the Superior Court of Justice as well as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. His practice is dedicated to helping victims and their families achieve the best possible results when they have suffered serious personal injuries. In his spare time, Carr enjoys playing tennis, hockey, soccer and golf. He currently coaches competitive youth soccer and hockey teams in Toronto.

Bani Ahuja, Omega Medical – Ms. Bani Ahuja is an Occupational Therapist, who graduated from McMaster University in 2010 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in the MVA sector since graduation, and also has specialized training in and experience with pediatric and cognitive disabilities. She has worked internationally as an OT as well as has been involved academically in teaching the Occupational Therapy Assistant programs as well as with mentoring for the University of Toronto OT program. She has participated in the catastrophic assessment training course for the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 4th Edition and AMA Guides 6th Edition Psychiatric Impairment Rating, and has been certified in Impairment and Disability Rating by the American College of Disability Medicine. She is also a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner. Her current practice focuses on medical-legal assessments including those for catastrophic determinations, as well as creating life care plans.
Lindsay Charles, McLeish Orlando – Lindsay Charles received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from McMaster University, and her law degree from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. Lindsay first joined McLeish Orlando as an articling student and later joined as an Associate after her call to the bar.Lindsay has a passion for advocating on behalf of injured victims and their family members. Her practice is devoted exclusively to plaintiffs’ personal injury and wrongful death cases, including occupiers’ liability, products liability, and disability benefits claims.Lindsay was appointed to the Brain Injury Association of Durham Region and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society.
Kevin Henderson, Oatley Vigmond – Kevin is a Partner with Oatley Vigmond where he leads a team of lawyers and support staff aggressively pursuing spinal cord, brain injury and serious orthopedic cases. When not practising law, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.
Colleen MacDonald, Oatley Vigmond – Colleen is an Accident Benefit Specialist with Oatley Vigmond. She provides assistance to clients accessing Statutory Accident Benefits. She has a number of years of experience working as an analyst in the Major Claims Unit for a large casualty insurer in the area of Statutory Accident Benefits. Colleen is able to provide insight into the adjuster’s approach to assessing files that have the potential for a catastrophic impairment designation and what makes a strong Application for Determination of Catastrophic Impairment.
