Nick Smith

Associate

Nick understands that those who have suffered through the trauma of a serious personal injury are already in a position of vulnerability, and is committed to helping them through this difficult process, offering the support and advice they need. Specifically, he seeks to help right the balance in an insurance system that is becoming increasingly antagonistic toward injured individuals.

Nick first joined Oatley Vigmond as a law student, and later an articling student, prior to joining the team as an associate lawyer in 2017. He holds a law degree from the University of Kent, where he graduated with first class distinction; a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, and an undergraduate degree in political studies from Queen’s University. He’s won numerous awards, including the Hillier Prize for Academic Achievement in the Study of Tort Law, the Justin W. Yuen Canadian Law Moot Prize and the Kent Law Society Prize for Best Overall Mooter. In his spare time, Nick enjoys being outdoors, especially camping and canoeing. He loves watching sports, particularly the Toronto Maple Leafs.
