Bennet Dawson

Helping injured people understand their rights and move forward after a serious accident is at the centre of Bennet Dawson’s practice. As an Ontario personal injury lawyer at Oatley Vigmond, Bennet represents individuals and families in cases involving catastrophic injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, motor vehicle accidents, accident benefits disputes, and other serious negligence matters. He combines careful preparation with clear, compassionate guidance to help injured Ontarians navigate complex personal injury and insurance claims.
Bennet first joined Oatley Vigmond as a junior law clerk in 2020 before returning as a summer student in 2022 and 2023. Following his call to the Ontario Bar in 2024, he joined the firm as an associate lawyer. Having developed his career within one of Ontario’s leading personal injury law firms, Bennet works closely with experienced trial lawyers to advocate for clients facing life-changing injuries and complex insurance disputes.
Bennet is passionate about helping clients navigate the legal system during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. He understands that serious injuries often bring financial, physical, and emotional challenges, and he is dedicated to providing clear communication, practical guidance, and compassionate advocacy throughout every stage of the litigation process. His goal is to allow clients to focus on their recovery while he focuses on protecting their legal rights.
Drawing on a strong academic foundation and an unwavering commitment to client service, Bennet approaches every case with careful preparation and attention to detail. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University and previously completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with Distinction, at the University of Toronto. While education has helped shape his legal skills, Bennet believes the most meaningful part of his work is helping injured people obtain the compensation and support they deserve after a serious accident.
In addition to his litigation practice, Bennet contributes to Oatley Vigmond’s legal education initiatives through articles on emerging issues in Ontario personal injury law. His writing covers topics including traumatic brain injuries, accident benefits, motor vehicle litigation, workplace injuries, and other issues affecting injured Ontarians, helping clients and the public better understand their legal rights following serious accidents. In June 2025, Bennet also spoke at the March of Dimes Conference, contributing to the broader conversation surrounding issues affecting injured people.
