Adam R. Little

Partner

Adam R. Little is an Ontario personal injury lawyer and Managing Partner at Oatley Vigmond who represents injured people and their families in complex personal injury and insurance claims across Ontario. His practice focuses on motor vehicle accident claims, medical negligence (medical malpractice), occupiers’ liability, long-term disability claims, and other insurance disputes. With more than two decades of litigation experience, Adam is committed to helping clients obtain the compensation they need while guiding them through every stage of the legal process with skill, compassion, and determination.

Since being called to the Ontario Bar in 2002, Adam has dedicated his career to advocating for people whose lives have been changed by serious injuries. Before joining Oatley Vigmond in 2005, he practiced with a leading Toronto litigation firm, where he represented physicians in medical malpractice claims and regulatory matters. That experience provided him with valuable insight into how medical negligence cases are defended, knowledge he now uses to advocate effectively for individuals who have been injured by medical errors.

Adam has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including jury trials in the Superior Court of Justice and appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal. He is known for developing creative legal strategies and pursuing every available avenue to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients. His work in Vokes v. Palmer established an important precedent for claims involving children who have lost a parent, and the decision continues to be recognized as a leading case in Ontario personal injury law.

A Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation, Adam is widely respected within the legal profession for both his courtroom advocacy and his contributions to legal education. He is the author and updating editor of the Personal Injury Practice Manual and a co-author of the chapters on Catastrophic Impairment in The Oatley-McLeish Guide to Personal Injury Practice in Motor Vehicle Cases. He is also a frequent presenter at legal conferences, where he shares his knowledge and experience with lawyers across Ontario and Canada.

Adam has been recognized for his contributions to the legal profession with the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association Distinguished Service Award and the Dean F. Edgell Award. These honours reflect his commitment to legal writing, continuing legal education, leadership, and advancing personal injury law.

For Adam, practicing personal injury law is about more than winning cases, it’s about helping people rebuild their lives after devastating events. He finds the greatest satisfaction in seeing the relief and confidence that comes from achieving a successful result for a client and their family. Outside the office, Adam enjoys running, mountain biking, riding his ATV, and spending time outdoors.
