ATV Safe Riding Tips

August 14, 2013

Enjoying the great outdoors on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) can be exciting, but it’s important to be aware of the necessary safety precautions. Like any other activity involving high-speed and heavy machinery, there are risks involved that can have serious consequences.

Whenever you’re operating an all-terrain vehicle, the law firms of the Personal Injury Alliance remind you to practice these safety tips:

  1. Be aware that head injuries can occur, but wearing a helmet may reduce the severity. Select a properly fitting helmet and make sure the helmet is certified.

  2. ATVs were not meant to have passengers. They’re designed for interactive riding and shifting weight freely. Passengers can make it difficult for drivers to control the ATV.

  3. If you’re driving an ATV, don’t drive it on paved roads. ATVS are difficult to control on these surfaces and serious injuries can occur.

Share the above safety tips with friends and family to make sure everyone understands how to minimize risks before you hit the trails.
